The Teen Living class is an integral part of the Exploratory program at Monelison Middle School.  The class is taught by Mrs. Nuckols and is designed to interest students in all areas of the Family and Consumer Sciences program.  Teen Living is offered to students in the eighth grade as a one semester course and is part of the six weeks rotation in both grades six and seven.

Teen Living focuses on developing skills in areas of food preparation and nutrition, clothing repair and maintenance, machine and hand sewing, kitchen maintenance, decision-making, oral presentations, and career choices.  The class allows all students to become involved in hands-on activities and gives them an opportunity to experience real life situations.

The newly updated department provides a comfortable classroom setting for learning as well as work areas for the laundry, food preparation, and sewing.  The addition of new appliances enhances a real life environment.

The students in the Teen Living program experience a vast array of opportunities and enjoy learning.
