Bullying Defined
Bullying involves using power over another, hurting someone repeatedly, or being mean on purpose.
Examples of Bullying
Physical Bullying
o Physical assaults, such as hitting, pushing, choking, hazing, tripping
o Taking items such as money, food or homework
o Damaging belongings such as clothing, school supplies and school projects
Verbal Bullying
o Threats
o Teasing and taunting
o Criticizing or ridiculing
o Name calling or sarcasm
o Starting and spreading rumors
o Telling lies
o Using sexual innuendoes/comments
Non-Verbal Bullying
o Ignoring or excluding on purpose
o Mean or inappropriate looks, stares or glares
Cyber Bullying
o Making threats to others on the internet and chat rooms
o Sending cruel or inappropriate emails or instant messages
o Taking inappropriate photos with cell phone cameras
o Posting inappropriate material on web sites meant to damage reputations
Reporting Bullying
Talk with the following:
o Your parent(s) or adult family member
o Adult you trust
o Teacher
o School Administrator
o School Counselor
o School Psychologist
o School Nurse
o School Social Worker
o School Resource Officer
o Coach
o School Support Staff
o Police
Do the following:
o Complete a Complaint of Bullying form
o Call the ACPS Anonymous Tip Line

Respect, Report, Respond
Students are expected to:
o Treat everyone with RESPECT
o If you are bullied or witness bullying then REPORT it to any adult at Monelison Middle School
o The appropriate school personnel will RESPOND to the report
